How Copy & Paste Works on a DroidDesk Phone

Share your clipboard between your computer and the rented phone — with a video guide.

DroidDesk supports clipboard sharing between your computer and the remote Android phone.

This means you can copy text on your computer and paste it into the rented phone during your remote session.

How the clipboard works

When you copy text on your computer, the copied information is transferred to the remote phone’s clipboard.

On the phone, the copied text may appear inside the keyboard’s Clipboard section. From there, you can select it and insert it into any text field.

What you can copy and paste

Email addresses
Passwords
Verification details
Notes
Links
Any other text

Paste the text into apps, websites, forms, or browsers on the phone.

How to paste text on the phone

1Copy the required text on your computer.
2Open the text field on the remote phone.
3Open the phone keyboard.
4Tap the Clipboard section on the keyboard.
5Select the copied text.
6The text is inserted into the selected field.

Depending on the keyboard installed on the device, the Clipboard button may look slightly different.

Check “Enable Clipboard” in RustDesk

RustDesk has a setting called Enable Clipboard. If copy and paste doesn’t work, first make sure this option is turned on in the RustDesk desktop client.

If Enable Clipboard is off, copied text may not be transferred to the remote phone.

If the clipboard isn’t working

Make sure Enable Clipboard is turned on in RustDesk.
Copy the text again on your computer.
Click inside the required text field on the phone.
Open the keyboard and check the Clipboard section.
Reconnect to the device if the copied text still doesn’t appear.
If the issue continues, contact support.
