What Is the DroidDesk Desktop Client?

The DroidDesk desktop connection uses RustDesk to provide remote access to a real Android smartphone.

Instead of using an Android emulator or virtual machine, you connect directly to a physical Android device.

This is useful when you want a dedicated desktop application for longer sessions or when you prefer working outside the browser.

Installing the Desktop Client

Open the Desktop Connection section on your rented device page.

Follow the installation instructions to download and configure RustDesk on your computer.

The setup only needs to be completed once.

After the client is configured, future connections can be launched directly from your DroidDesk dashboard.

Connecting to Your Android Phone

  1. 1Open the page of your rented device.
  2. 2In the Desktop Connection section, click Open on PC.
  3. 3Your browser may ask for permission to launch RustDesk.
  4. 4Confirm the request, and the connection should start automatically.

You can also find the connection ID and password in the same section.

These credentials provide access to your rented device, so do not share them with other people.

Controlling the Phone

Once connected, you can interact with the Android phone directly from your computer.

Mouse clicks work like taps on the phone screen, while click-and-drag gestures work like swipes.

Depending on the access level of your rental, you can open apps, navigate Android, enter text, and perform other supported actions on the device.

Connection Problems

If the connection does not start correctly, first check the message shown in your DroidDesk dashboard.

You can also restart RustDesk on the phone from the device management page.

If the phone itself needs to be restarted, use the Reboot Device option.

During a reboot, the connection will temporarily be unavailable.

Desktop Client vs Web App

DroidDesk supports both desktop and browser-based remote access.

The desktop client is a good option if you prefer working through a dedicated application.

The DroidDesk Web App provides browser-based control and additional tools such as file management, browser profiles, proxy configuration, cookie import, and virtual camera features.

For those features, see our DroidDesk Web App Guide.
