eSIM availability by plan
Important: choose the right device for eSIM
If you plan to install your own eSIM, we recommend choosing a device connected via Wi-Fi. This helps avoid losing connection to the phone during eSIM setup.
If the phone is using mobile SIM/eSIM for internet, installing your own eSIM may disable the current SIM/eSIM that provides the device connection. In this case, the phone may lose internet access and become unavailable.
eSIM limits
- the phone can store up to 10 eSIM profiles in memory
- only 2 SIM/eSIM profiles can be active at the same time
- for using two SIM/eSIM profiles in parallel, Samsung S-series devices are recommended
- on Samsung A-series and other non-S models, installing your eSIM may disable the current SIM/eSIM used for internet
For best results
- choose a device with the eSIM Allowed label
- choose a Wi-Fi-connected device if you want to avoid connection loss
- choose Samsung S-series if you need two SIM/eSIM profiles active at the same time
- if the phone already has 10 stored eSIM profiles, a new eSIM may not be added until an old profile is removed
